Fake Tales of Real Adventure Volume 1: Immune

Fake Tales of Real Adventure is a written-form actual play of a game that could have happened and also acts as something of a tutorial on how to play, it should hopefully give you a good approximation on how a game session might look and also show you the rules in play to hopefully clear up any confusion and questions you might have as far as system or rules go while also providing the entertainment of an Actual Play.

This volume contains 37 pages complete with art and annotated sidebars providing notes about rules and systems.

Yeah, I know video or podcast actual plays are very popular. However I wanted to provide options for people who have video or audio processing issues, or who just prefer to change it up a bit, provide a diversity of media to engage with! I personally cannot engage with actual plays or podcasts, I can't concentrate on them very easily, so as I usually do, I made something for me, or people like me.

Immune is a fast-paced zombie splatter TTRPG by Dyer Rose. The game is Illuminated by Lumen and it’s “core book” is a scant 5-page document that gives you everything you need to play the game in either a one-shot or ongoing campaign style.

You are a survivor of the zombie plague that broke the world, you are Immune. You, side-by-side with other Immune, are the last hope humanity has to survive. You protect your settlements, scavenge in the wasteland for supplies and strike at the zombies that consumed your world in hopes of a better tomorrow.

Immune is inspired by zombie action games like Left 4 Dead or Zombicide, where sometimes the best defense is an aggressive offense. 

While the initial core release is completely playable, plans for a season 1 release with optional rules modules that may be added to change or enhance your game is coming.

A Volume 2 will happen, it will conclude the first volume, wrapping things up nicely. I very much hope a volume 3 and beyond happens, and I really hope that I can do this for games and systems beyond my own. 

What I'll need from you, is support! The writing, editing, art, layout and design all takes time and effort, quite a bit of it too, so I'll need support to keep producing this!

All proceeds for this volume, as well as volume 2, will go towards production of Volume 3 and 4.

Lastly if you are familiar with Immune as well, I would like to know if you have any questions not yet answered in this volume of Fake Tales, whether something to make sure I include in volume 2, or something I need to update in volume 1 because something wasn't addressed!

Currently Fake Tales of Real Adventure offers four different files:

• FToRA-Immune v.1 Large.pdf: A Large PDF at 300 dpi.
• FToRA-Immune v.1 Small.pdf: A Small PDF at 96 dpi.
• FToRA Immune v.1 Graphic EPUB: This epub isn't quite as pretty as the pdf layout, but it formats better to a phone and may play nicer with your screen reader if the pdfs are giving you trouble.
• FToRA Immune v.1 Art Description EPUB: This is an epub with the same benefits as the file above, however this epub doesn't have any images. Any Images are instead replaced by text descriptions.
• Censored: Any censored file has cleaned up its language replacing profanity, that being said the game is still bloody and very violent, those are aspects that cannot easily be find+replaced out.

All epubs have been tested to work okay on Play Books. Results with FBReader and Freda were less desirable (but still legible), Freda was the worst of the three imo.
